Halton police arrest accused man in Georgetown, Ont. shooting

Halton police have arrested a man they say is responsible for a shooting in Georgetown, Ont. earlier this year.

Officers say they arrested 41-year-old James Chadrey (Chad) Hume Thursday at around 4:30 p.m. in the area of Main Street and Park Avenue.

Hume has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, discharge of a firearm with intent, assault with a weapon and failure to comply with a probation order.

The accused has been held in custody ahead of his court date.

Police have not located the weapon used in this offence and are asking anyone with information on this investigation, including anyone who may have witnessed the incident, to contact the Major Crime Bureau tip line at 905-825-4777, ext. 4776.
