Contract expected to create dozens of jobs

New jobs and more federal government contracts are coming to the Port Weller dry docks in St Catharines.

MP Rick Dykstra joined Seaway Marine and Industrial this morning in announcing a $6 million refit on the Canadian Coast Guard ship Amundsen. The icebreaker and research vessel is on the back of Canada’s $50 bill.

The six month contract is set to start October 15th. It’ll provide jobs for 30 to 40 people at the Port Weller docks.
