Cleanup underway following successful Grey Cup fest

Hamilton is slowly returning to normal following this weekend’s Grey Cup celebrations as clean-ups get underway and roads reopen.

All streets that were blocked off for the big game Sunday in the city’s downtown core are once again open as of 7 a.m. Monday.

City crews have also been working to take down no parking signs that were placed in the area early Monday morning.

James Street, the hub of the Grey Cup Fan Central, has been fully cleaned up since fan events and the Christmas Market filled the streets.

At Tim Hortons Field, some decorations remain in place after Sunday’s game and reminders of the tailgate parties that filled the area with excitement can still be seen outside of the gated-off stadium.

Crews are set to work throughout the day to clean up any garbage that has found its way in the surrounding area.

Though the celebrations are not far behind, the city is moving towards saying goodbye to the Grey Cup that has dominated Hamilton this past week.
