Lane restrictions to be in effect on Hamilton’s Claremont Access

Lane restrictions will be in effect on the Mountain-bound lanes of Hamilton’s Claremont Access Monday and Tuesday as the city conducts repairs.
In a post on social media, the City says the restrictions will be in effect both days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for erosion and stability work.
Drivers are being warned that minor delays may occur as a result of the repair work.
These repairs come nearly two weeks after the downbound lanes of the Mountain Access reopened after being blocked off for eight months.

The downbound lanes were closed in March after consultants noticed one of the escarpment barriers was failing. Work had been underway since then to deal with erosion and concerns about the slope’s stability.
A statement from the city says the escarpment rock face has been scaled and made safe, and the cleanup has been completed.
