The City of Burlington released the first progress report of their 10-year plan to address climate change at a city council meeting on Tuesday.

The Climate Resilient Burlington (CRB) plan began last year and includes 32 actions to manage the risks of warmer, wetter and wilder weather.

Some of the actions include increasing electric mobility and turning Burlington into a net carbon zero community by 2050.

There are currently 114 public and private electric vehicle charging stations in Burlington. This is expected to increase in the next two years.

The city has been working towards installing more solar panels and transforming several buildings into carbon-free facilities. These include the Appleby Ice Centre, Brant Hills Community Centre and two fire stations.

The full details about Burlington’s climate action and environment initiatives are available on the city’s website.
