The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) has seized over 250 kg of methamphetamine at a border crossing near Sarnia, Ont.
On Feb. 4, a commercial truck arriving at the Blue Water Bridge port of entry from the United States was pulled aside for a secondary examination by a CBSA officer.
Further inspection of the trailer led to officers finding 16 duffle bags containing suspected methamphetamine. Authorities say the total weight of the narcotics was 266.4 kg.
As a result, CBSA officers arrested 29-year-old Kulbir Singh of Woodstock, Ont. Singh and the narcotics were then transferred to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
Singh has been charged by the RCMP with importation of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
