Canada drug shortage
Canada needs a plan to manage prescription drug supply and deal with medication shortages.
The Canadian Medical Association Journal and the Canadian Pharmacists Journal say the federal government needs to do something to make sure we get the medicine we need.
It comes after shortages of chemotherapy drugs, antibiotics, anesthetics and pain killers.
They say companies need to report impending drug shortages, and Canada needs both a drug stockpile and a backup plan to tap into international suppliers.
