Big border seizure

A 50 year old hamilton man was arrested by border services earlier this month.

He allegedly failed to stop his truck at the Queenston Bridge border crossing inspection station.

When officers examined his trailer, they discovered over 14,000 kilograms of tobacco instead of the steel noted in his manifest.

The duty owed on the tobacco is estimated at over $2.5 million.
