Canada defeats U.S. in women’s world hockey championship

Canada has captured its first women’s world hockey championship in nearly a decade after defeating the United States.
The women clinched a 3-2 victory in overtime over the five-time defending champions in Calgary Tuesday night.

Canada went unbeaten through the championship tournament.
In the bronze medal matchup, Finland beat Switzerland 3-1.
The last time Canada won gold was in 2012.
