Everything you need to know about Thorold’s 2026 municipal election
Thorold residents will go to the polls to cast their votes for the city’s next mayor and other municipal officials on Oct. 26, 2026.
More information on voting in Thorold and key dates can be found on the city’s website.
Voters should note that Thorold’s mayor also serves on the Niagara Regional Council.
Thorold Mayor Terry Ugulini has announced he is stepping down from his position at the end of his second term this October.
The deadline to submit or withdraw nominations was Aug. 21 at 2 p.m.
Candidates are listed alphabetically by last name alongside a brief bio. This page will be updated regularly as the race develops, and individual ward candidate lists will follow the same format.
Thorold’s mayoral race
- Henry D’Angela has served the City of Thorold for over 20 years as a city councillor, regional councillor and mayor. D’Angela graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a degree in economics, later becoming the president and CEO of D’Angela Financial Services. His platform focuses on supporting local business, smart infrastructure, affordable and senior housing and more.
- Tim Whalen has served as a regional councillor since 2018.
