Last night’s big Blue Jays win is being overshadowed by the behviour of some of the fans. Tonight Major League Baseball is looking into new security plans for the remaining post-season games in Toronto, after an unruly crowd tossed beer cans onto the field. That lead to at least one arrest. A man was charged after a baby was hit by spray from a can of beer. It turns out the man is from Caistor Centre, about a 20 minute drive from Grimsby.

Police say the baby was with her mother in the front row of the Rogers Centre when the beer can was tossed their way. Television cameras captured a teary woman holding her baby shortly after the incident but police say the infant was not hurt. Police say a man by the name of Albert Grummitt has been charged with one count of mischief.

Fans began throwing beer and other items onto the field after a controversial call was made in the seventh inning that gave the Texas Rangers a short-lived lead. At one point the players huddled in the infield while others sought refuge in the dugout to avoid the beer cans and garbage being tossed onto the field. Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said he was nearly hit by a beer can. About two dozen police officers ran on to the playing surface and stood guard around the perimeter as stadium workers picked up the trash.
