Burlington man jailed in Indonesia months with no charges now going to trial

The Burlington teacher who’s been trapped behind bars in Indonesia for months, accused of sexual abuse at a school in Jakarta, will now have his case heard in court.

Neil Bantleman’s indictment will be read on Tuesday

It is expected to mark the beginning of a legal process that could last well into the new year.

Neil’s brother, Guy Bantleman says he is now in his own single cell in holding and is experiencing improved conditions but it is still a very stressful time now that the trial is confirmed.

Bantleman had previously been held for months without any charges laid.
