Brantford police have arrested six people and seized over $213,000 in illicit drugs in Project CHALLENGER.

Police say the project is funded by the Ontario government and is a joint investigation with the Ontario Provincial Police and Guelph Police.

A two-month long drug investigation commenced mid-June 2022, involving several suspected drug dealers engaged in trafficking cocaine and fentanyl within Brantford and throughout Southwestern Ontario.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, August 11, police executed four search warrants.

The first was executed at a residence located on Osborn Avenue. Police seized the following:

Search Warrants were also executed on two vehicles. Inside one of the vehicles police say they located:

  • 3 compound bows
  • Stolen vehicles (a trailer, ride-on lawnmower, and pick-up truck; all previously reported as stolen)

Police say the total street value of the illicit drugs is $213,704.

As a result of Project CHALLENGER, the following people were arrested and charged with multiple offences:

  • Kyle Dasilva, 30, of Brantford
  • Sarah Marshall, 30, of Brantford
  • Odinga Sam, 31, of Toronto

  • Steven Sault, 32, of Brant County

“The success of this operation can be attributed to the outstanding collaboration of policing partners and agencies, Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario, Brantford Police Services, Ontario Provincial Police, and Guelph Police Service. Removing firearms and illicit drugs from our streets helps to also reduce the violence surrounding the trade of these substances, further improving community safety,” said Chief Rob Davis, in a statement.
