Mission Services to move downtown Hamilton men’s shelter by winter

Mission Services plans to move its men’s shelter in downtown Hamilton.
The shelter on James Street North, near Barton Street, was damaged by a fire in April.
Earlier this summer around two thirds of men who were living their were able to return and soon they will be moving to the former Canadian Red Cross building at King Street and Wellington Street.
The building is currently being refurbished by Core Urban Developments.
The move is expected to happen by this winter and will allow Mission Services to retain its 58 emergency beds and will add 50 transitional housing spaces.
