Brantford Ontario’s car theft capital: study

A new study claims you’re more likely to get your car stolen in Brantford or Hamilton, than in any other city in Ontario.

A recent Statscan report says Hamilton drivers have the second highest chance in Ontario of getting their car stolen.

Almost 1700 cars were stolen in Hamilton last year, slightly fewer than the year before. Police say that’s because the city is big enough to have a wide variety of vehicles available and has easy-to-escape highway access.

They say most often vehicles are taken to Six Nations — and are used in other crimes, races and are stripped down for parts.
