Beware of Niagara bank scam

Niagara police are warning both public and financial institutions about a common fraud known as the “bank examiner scam.”

It’s when a client gets a phone call from someone saying they’re investigating thefts at the bank.

They’re told to withdraw a large sum of cash, and meet the caller in a nearby parking lot.

The money is taken from the victim and never seen again.

Police are reminding the public to never give personal information over the phone, especially when asked for money.
