Bernie Sanders seeks cheap prescription drugs in Canada

American presidential hopeful and Vermont senator Bernie Sanders is heading north of the border in search of cheap Canadian drugs. In this case, insulin.
He says he’ll be here near the end of the month to clearly demonstrate the disparity between prescription drug prices in Canada and the United States.
Typically, a vial of insulin used by Type 1 diabetics costs about $340 in the states. It costs about a tenth of that in Canada.
Sanders has long targeted pharmaceutical companies for their unreasonable price of drugs, saying Americans can’t wait any longer.
He made a similar trip to Canada in 1999.
