Baby dies at Markham daycare

York Regional Police are investigating the death of a nine-month old girl at an unlicensed daycare in Markham. Police say they were called to the daycare around 5 Wednesday evening because the baby had stopped breathing. An autopsy was conducted Thursday but didn’t find the cause of death. The homicide unit is currently investigating. It’s automatically called in to investigate the death of any child under the age of five.
