Arrest in Acton senior assault

A man has been arrested after a senior was attacked inside an Acton variety store.

Halton police say they received several tips after releasing surveillance video. They say the 78 year old man went into the store, last Monday, after being rushed at with a van while trying to cross the street with his dog.

In the video two men are arguing and the bigger man pushes the senior, sending him and his dog to the ground. The man wasn’t seriously injured.

Allen Snels, 51, of Acton has been charged with one count of assault.
