Armed robbery in Welland

Niagara Regional Police are looking for a male suspect after an armed robbery occurred at a convenience store in Welland Saturday night.

According to police, the man entered Michel’s Variety Store at 94 Empire Street wielding a knife and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect left the store on foot after receiving an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as white with blonde hair. He’s about 5’10” with a heavy build and was wearing a black and red Halloween mask.

Niagara Regional Police are investigating the incident.
