Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in Lima, Peru for the first day of the A-PEC leaders’ summit.

Trudeau is attending a meeting today hosted by outgoing U.S. President Barack Obama.

The focus is on president-elect Donald Trump’s vow to pull the U.S. out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Experts are predicting the deal is dead, following Trump’s campaign promise and Obama’s decision to give up on pushing the pact through Congress before the end of his term.
