The FBI is now investigating the mass shooting in California as “an act of terrorism,” but they’re continuing to investigate, to try to understand the motivations of the shooters and whether they were planning more attacks. While searching the couple’s home, police found a bomb making factory. They discovered 12 pipe bombs, tools to make more explosives, and more than 45 hundred rounds of ammunition. Authorities are now investigating ties to isis. “We are now investigating these horrific acts, as an act of terrorism.”

Federal officials say Tashfeen Malik, the female suspect pledged her allegiance to ISIS on social media. Around the time of the attack, Malik allegedly made the post on Facebook under a different name, then deleted it, but investigators were able to recover it.

The FBI doesn’t believe ISIS had direct involvement with either her, or her husband Syed Farook, but they acknowledge others are being investigated. Officials don’t know whether other attacks are planned, but are concerned the couple was flying under the radar.

A look into the life of a couple that law enforcement sources say was self-radicalized, though, neither Malik nor Farook had ever been in trouble with the law and they were not on any watch lists.
Their family also says they had no idea and Farook’s sister says she’s not sure if she can forgive her brother.”That’s a hard question. I don’t even know if I would forgive him. Just because of what he did.”

Today at the couple’s rented home in nearby Redlands, the media was allowed free access to the apartment by the landlord after it was cleared by the FBI. Media had no access to the garage that had been converted into a bomb-making lab, complete with explosive powders and igniters. “Just doesn’t make sense, they just didn’t seem like that type of people.”

Investigators recovered hard drives and cell phones that the couple apparently attempted to destroy. But the FBI says they’re confident they’ll be able to access whatever the suspects didn’t want them to know.
