Alleged impaired driver critically injures motorcyclist in Brantford

Brantford police charged an impaired driver after she allegedly crashed into a motorcycle, leaving the rider with life-threatening injuries on Saturday.

Officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a motorcycle at around 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of Glikison Street and Colborne Street West.

Investigators observed signs of impairment after speaking with the 33-year-old female driver of the car, who failed roadside testing.

Police transported her to provide required breath samples, both of which were over the legal limit.

The motorcycle driver suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to the nearest trauma centre.

Officers charged the accused with operation causing bodily harm, operation while impaired (blood alcohol concentration) and dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
