40-year-old man arrested in St. Catharines homicide investigation

Niagara police have arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation in St. Catharines.

At approximately 4:15 p.m. on May 15, officers were called to a home in the area of Lakeshore Road and Lake Street for reports of two people without vital signs.

Upon arrival, authorities found a woman dead in the home, while a man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives have not yet provided information regarding the cause of the woman’s death or the man’s injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Joshua St Omer of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
