2 men face multiple charges in GTA drug trafficking case

Halton police say two men are facing multiple drug-related charges following a trafficking investigation.

In November, officers opened the case dubbed Project Thriller into two traffickers using rental vehicles and operating throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Investigators carried out a search warrant on Monday at a home in Thorold, where they located and arrested the pair. Search warrants were also executed at a storage locker in Beamsville and in two vehicles.

Police seized a large quantity of illegal drugs, including cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine, as well as two replica handguns, a prohibited knife and two brass knuckles.

Owen Ewald, 21, of Kitchener and Isa Hosein, 25, of Thorold are both facing nearly a dozen drug and firearm-related charges.

Both men were held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
