19-year-old Haldimand County resident dies in single-vehicle crash

A 19-year-old Wilsonville, Ont., resident has died following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 54 in Haldimand County overnight Tuesday.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a collision just before 12:30 a.m.
Officers say a vehicle left the roadway, struck a guard rail and then rolled over into a ditch.
The driver sustained serious life-threatening injuries and died at the scene.
“Our thoughts are going out to all family members and friends affected by this tragedy,” OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk says in a video posted to X.

Ontario Provincial Police closed Highway 54 between Onondaga Townline and Harrison roads. The area reopened shortly before 4 p.m.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time or residents with video surveillance to come forward to police.
