$1Billion to fix schools

Ontario is investing $1.1 billion to repair and renew schools. Newly-appointed Education Minister Mitzie Hunter made the announcement in Toronto Monday morning. $500 million will be made available to school boards this summer, so buildings can be made safer, more modern and more energy efficient. The remaining $575 million will be distributed equitably between school boards in the upcoming school year. Individual boards will then decide how and when the money should be spent.
