The annual John C. Holland Awards are a significant cultural milestone, honouring outstanding achievement in Hamilton’s African Canadian community. And while the Reverend Holland set a high standard in this community, this year, for the first time, there was a special award to honour another great leader; Nelson Mandela. We spoke to the inaugural recipient of the prestigious award, a 20-year old student from McMaster University.
