Brantford assault

Brantford police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person who knocked a woman unconscious and then sexually assaulted her. The attack took place in a residential neighbourhood early Friday morning.

Police say it happened on Dalhousie Street between Alfred Street and Park Avenue sometime between midnight and 1am. That’s closed to Alexandra Park. They say the 20-year old woman parked her car in a driveway next to a home. Got out with her purse and cell phone and closed the door.

That’s when she was grabbed from behind and her head was forcefully banged into the car knocking her unconscious. When she woke up a short time later, she was alone and partially clothed. She still had her purse and cell phone. She went to a neighbourhing home to call police, and she was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The OPP canine unit assisted in trying to track down the suspect in the Dalhousie Street area but it’s unknown if the person ran away or drove off. At this point, there’s no suspect description. Police want to speak with anyone who may have been in the area between midnight and 1am. They say someone may have been walking or driving by and heard or saw something suspicious.
