Early autism diagnosis
In a new study “at risk” infants with autism received a confirmed diagnosis of the disorder by age three.
Parents of the children in the study filled out a questionnaire that screens for missed developmental milestones.
Results showed 85% of the children considered at-risk for autism had some sort of developmental delay at age three.
Experts say spotting children with developmental delays early gives them months, even years, to participate in intervention programs before they would typically be diagnosed.
