Apartment fire in East Hamilton

The balcony of an apartment on Grandville Avenue is damaged after a fire this morning.

Fire officials say the cause of the fire was likely from smoking.

About a dozen firetrucks responded to the scene this morning to put the blaze out. The windows of the apartment are broken, but there is minimal damage to the inside.

All four people and the cats that were in the apartment got out safe.
