Oakville man charged in child luring investigation

An Oakville man has been charged in a child luring case.

Halton Police’s Internet Child Exploitation unit became aware of a man who was trying to repeatedly communicate with children under the age of 18.

Police say he did this between January and April of this year, using Instagram.

Richard Beasley, 50, was arrested on Tuesday. He’s charged with luring a child and two counts of criminal harassment.

He was released on an undertaking.

Police believe there may be other victims and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 905-465-8986.

They say several different usernames were used including:
