Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash near Mississauga-Oakville border
Peel police say a vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian in a hit-and-run near the Mississauga-Oakville border.
On Tuesday at around 6 p.m., officers responded to a call for a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the area of the Winston Churchill Boulevard and Dundas Street West.
Despite the best efforts of police, paramedics and fire, the pedestrian died due to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the driver of the dark-coloured pick-up truck did not remain at the scene and is currently outstanding. Roads were closed but have since reopened.
Detectives encourage the driver to seek legal counsel and turn themselves in to the police.
