Resident hospitalized following Thorold house fire

A teenage girl was sent to hospital following a house fire in Thorold. Thorold Fire Chief Terry Dixon says she was trapped upstairs and a rescue had to be made. The condition of the girl could not be confirmed by Dixon.

Thorold fire were called to the 1.5 storey home on Maitland street near Colborne street around 11:00 a.m. Dixon says there were no visible flames in the house at the time of arrival.

Reports say a second resident was also sent to hospital with smoke inhalation but Dixon could not confirm at the time of the interview.

The Ontario Fire Marshall was called and they have assigned an investigator to help detect the cause of the fire.
