The City of Brantford is teaming up with its downtown BIA to host the annual “Scare in the Square” event at Harmony Square this weekend.
Families can look forward to a two-day “Halloween extravaganza” as the city’s favourite fall event makes its return Friday and Saturday.
The free experience is set to include trick-or-treating, costume contests, Caper’s Craft Corner, roller skating, scarecrow and pumpkin displays, a pumpkin carving contest, the HOWL-o-ween Dog Parade and much more.

On Saturday free trick-or-treat bags will be available to everyone participating while supplies last and families can catch Disney Trivia at Hudson Public at 6 p.m.

The sold-out home opener game for the Brantford Bulldogs will also be broadcast live beginning at 7 p.m. for anyone looking to catch the game with fellow fans.
Anyone looking to get extra spooky can explore some of the at-cost activities. These include amusement rides for $7, accessible tractor drawn hayrides for $2, a paranormal tour at the Brant County Museum ($5), or the Witches’ Hut or Golden Gambit Escape Rooms for $5.
Ticket packages will be available for those looking to hit multiple attractions. Package one will include a ride-all-day wristband for both days for $10 while package two includes the hayride, escape room and paranormal tour for $11.
Brantford transit will be running from the main terminal located just one block away. Full schedules, routes and rates can be found on the Brantford Transit website.
The “Scare in the Square” kicks off from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and will run from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday for a weekend bound to be full of memories.
