Police lift hold and secure at 3 Hamilton Mountain public schools

Hamilton police say a hold and secure has been lifted at three public schools on the west Mountain Thursday afternoon.

In an online alert at 1 p.m., the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board said that Westmount Secondary School, Westwood Elementary School and Westview Elementary School were under the hold and secure.

Officers say they responded to the area for reports of a suspicious man.

Police lifted the hold and secure about an hour later.

The HWDSB said families can expect an update as soon as possible.
