Hamilton’s first magic mushroom dispensary opens in east end

Hamiltonians don’t need to travel far to run in to a cannabis dispensary, but a new type of store is sprouting up, one that specializes in magic mushrooms.

Despite it being very much illegal, customers and some surrounding businesses are showing support.

A spokesperson for The Mushroom Cabinet on Main St. East says opening up the store is part of “the cause” to push for legalization.

Psilocybin or “magic” mushrooms are a restricted substance in Canada, but Health Canada has approved some forms of it for medicinal use.
