Charges laid in drug trafficking investigation in Burlington, surrounding area

Halton police have made arrests in connection to a drug trafficking investigation in Burlington and the surrounding area.

The investigation into the suspected distribution of illicit drugs began this summer and concluded this week.

Residential search warrants took place in Mississauga, Brampton, and two Burlington locations. A vehicle was also searched.

As a result, investigators seized 1 kg of methamphetamine, 4 oz of fentanyl, 3 oz of cocaine, 200 oxycodone tablets, and a replica firearm.

51-year-old Patrick McNerney of Burlington and 28-year-old Kevon Samuel-Barriteau of Brampton were arrested and now face drug trafficking charges.

Both McMerney and Samuel-Barriteau have court dates scheduled in October.
