Niagara police charge man, 50, in sexual assault of young boy

Niagara police have charged a 50-year-old man in connection with a sexual assault case involving a young boy.

Officers said a man allegedly sexually abused a child inside his residence in Fort Erie.

Police believe the suspect may have been operating an unlicensed daycare out of his home.

Sean Schneider of Fort Erie was arrested Wednesday and has been charged with sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age and sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age.

Investigators said the victim and Schneider are known to one another.

Detectives also believe there may be more victims.
