Construction is underway in Hamilton’s Lime Ridge Mall parking lot near Upper Wentworth Street’s Tesla chargers for a new city-owned HSR bus terminal.
The City of Hamilton says through HSR Next, it is working to create a more connected, frequent and reliable transit network that better serves the city’s growing communities.
City officials say investments in transit infrastructure, including the future Lime Ridge Bus Terminal, are an important part of supporting this vision.
The city says this project is currently under construction, with completion scheduled for next September.
The City of Hamilton says the project timeline was affected by the change in ownership of Lime Ridge Mall in the summer of 2025 when Primaris REIT became the new owner.
City officials say additional time was required for the new ownership to review the terms of the agreement with the city before the project could proceed.
The city says work completed on site to date includes the relocation of the Tesla charging stations, contractor mobilization, installation of site fencing and barriers, demolition and site preparation, utility work and the construction of concrete foundations.
