Halton police have charged a man following a Milton fraud investigation that resulted in financial losses of over $200,000.

Officers initiated an investigation in August after allegations that the former secretary of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Canada had submitted fraudulent expense claims and improperly redirected funds intended for the Diocese into accounts under his personal control.

On Oct. 21, investigators arrested and charged Jovan Marjanac, 40, of Wingham, Ont.

Marjanac has been charged with one count of fraud over $5,000.
