Canada’s Wonderland in Vaughan, which is owned by Six Flags, closed its Leviathan and Behemoth roller coasters Monday following a fatal incident at Six Flags Over Georgia.

Police say one person died and several others were injured in Georgia on Monday.

Witnesses in Georgia say a rider fell from a car on the Goliath roller coaster and hit other riders.

They say shortly after, they heard an announcement telling them the park had closed and it was time to leave.

Other guests were left stranded on Goliath’s steep incline, watching emergency crews rush past them below and wondering what went wrong.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily closed similar attractions across our parks. The safety of our guests and team members remains one of our highest priorities,” Canada’s Wonderland tells CHCH News in a statement.

The local amusement park says they do not have a timeline for reopening.
