Brantford police are investigating after a hit-and-run Monday afternoon involved a vehicle striking a pedestrian in a mobility assist wheelchair.

Officers say at around 1 p.m. someone in a dark coloured sedan struck the pedestrian in the area of Stanley and Chatham streets, and left the scene.

Investigators say the driver was last seen going southbound along Stanley Street.

They say the vehicle may have scratches to the left-front driver’s side fender.

Police say the extent of injuries is unknown at this time.

Anyone with information, dashcam footage or may have obtained a license plate are asked to contact police at 519-756-7050, ext. 2843.
