A man has been arrested after a woman was found dead in an apartment building in Burlington early Thursday morning.
Halton police say they received a call from the woman’s family for a wellness check around 6:30 a.m. at 3020 Glencrest Rd., near Guelph Line and New Street.
Officers went to the building and found a deceased woman in her 40s. Police say no other people were found inside of the apartment.
There is no word yet on when or how the woman died.

Investigators say they received information about the suspect fleeing to the Niagara Falls area.
Niagara Regional Police were then contacted and a Burlington man in his 40s was arrested around 7:45 a.m. Charges are pending at this time. Halton police say they are not looking for any additional suspects.
Police say the victim and suspect were known to each other. It is not clear if the suspect lived in the same apartment building where the victim was found dead.
There is no information on whether the suspect was previously known to police.

Investigators say there is no threat to public safety.
People in the area of Glencrest Road and Guelph Line can expect an ongoing police presence. Police tape can also be seen at the back of the apartment building where there are recycling bins.
