Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a single-vehicle crash on Highway 58 in Thorold has left one person dead.
On Saturday at around 11:15 p.m., OPP responded to a report of a collision involving a sedan.
Officers say initial investigation indicated that the vehicle was travelling northbound when the driver lost control and struck a steel guardrail.
Investigators say as a result of the collision, a 27-year-old from Vaughan was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.
Highway 58 was fully closed between Thorold Stone and Niagara Falls roads for several hours and has since reopened.
