Family of slain Niagara Falls man speaks out as alleged killers still on the run

The family of Mitchell Snoddon is speaking out after the 35-year-old was shot and killed last month in Niagara Falls, Ont.

Two people remain at large and are wanted for his murder, with Niagara Regional Police issuing Canada-wide warrants for their arrest.

“Mitch was the light of my life, my oldest boy, I have two,” said his mother, Angela Bolus.

Surrounded by friends and family for support, Angela spoke with CHCH News to share memories of her son, a tattoo artist who leaves behind two children.

“Every one of them loved Mitchell,” Angela said. “He was a good kid. He would give you his last 50 cents if that’s what you needed.”

His father, Donny Bolus, echoed those sentiments.

“He was a good kid, he never bothered about anything,” Donny said. “He took care of himself and always called his mom every night to tell her he loved her.”

Snoddon was shot and killed on July 16, just before 9 p.m., at his residence on Thorold Stone Road.

“He was a great dad, he was always there,” said Jessica Thompson, the mother of his children. “He was an even greater uncle before he was a dad, he was always making them good plans.”

Niagara police are still searching for two suspects wanted for second-degree murder in connection with Snoddon’s death. Canada-wide arrest warrants have been issued for Josta MacNeal and Maaroof Bangi.

When asked if tips are coming in and whether people across Canada have reported seeing the pair, police confirmed investigators are actively pursuing all leads.

“We have been doing absolutely everything that we can to follow up every bit of information that’s been coming through to us, and we do want to thank the public for their attention and for their diligence in reporting to us some of the sightings,” said Insp. Andrew Knevel with Niagara police.

Snoddon’s mother had a direct message for the two suspects on the run.

“Come home, turn yourself in, get a lawyer, have your day in court, give me and the people who love him closure,” she said.

Niagara police are continuing to ask the public for assistance. Anyone who sees the two wanted individuals is asked to call 911 immediately. Police noted the suspects may have altered their appearance.
