A young Hamilton man accused of participating in a Niagara-area auto theft ring has been sentenced to three years in prison.
A judge in St. Catharines handed down the sentence to Abdulhamid Talip after he pleaded guilty to multiple car theft-related charges.
Talip was 18 years old when he was arrested by Niagara police last May, along with two 17 year old’s from Hamilton.
The trio stole 42 vehicles from the Niagara region, brought them to Hamilton and shipped several overseas.
