Metrolinx says regular service has resumed Monday morning at the Hamilton GO Centre after a stalled freight train was cleared.

In an email shortly before 7 a.m., the agency said GO trains originating from Hamilton GO Centre were blocked due to the immobilized freight train.

Riders heading east from Hamilton were advised to go to West Harbour GO for train service or catch a bus from Hamilton GO Centre to Aldershot GO.

Regular service was restored around 9 a.m.
