Police have charged a man in connection to a hit-and-run in St. Catharines that sent a 20-year-old woman to hospital with serious injuries.
On Thursday at around 5:23 p.m., officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on King Street between Academy and Court streets.
Officers say the driver of the car did not stop after hitting the woman.
The vehicle was travelling east on King Street and struck the pedestrian on the south side of the road.
On Friday at around 2:40 p.m., detectives observed the suspect vehicle being operated by the accused.

Shortly after, investigators arrested Daniel Debon, 31, of Niagara-on-the-Lake. He’s been charged with failure to stop at the scene of an accident, causing bodily harm.
This incident happened just a block away from the other pedestrian collision at Church and Court streets earlier in the day.
Officers say there is no indication at this time that the incidents are related.
Debon was released on a Form 10 Undertaking with a future court date.
