Provincial police say a woman is dead and another is in hospital after a crash on Highway 403 at Dundas Street East in Oakville.
The crash happened at around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Burlington OPP say they were responding to a call for a stopped vehicle in a live, westbound lane.
“Before emergency response could attend, the vehicle was struck by an approaching tractor-trailer,” says Sgt. Kerry Schmidt in a video posted to social media.
A 78-year-old driver is dead and her 67-year-old female passanger was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators say a 78-year-old woman died and her 67-year-old female passenger was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours before reopening at around 4 a.m. Friday.
